Cachi

One thing Salta is famous for is the Tren a las Nubes, which is a train ride up to the mountains and into the clouds. Well, on our trip to Cachi, the town where we were staying in the house of a friend of Nic's, we got the colectivo to the clouds, an even better experience as it was a total surprise! Isn't that incredible? All clouds! Cactus forest growing on the way to Cachi. A little blurry as the photo was taken from the car.
Mountains of Cachi.
View from the house where we stayed. The house was completely restored and absolutely beautiful!
Deck and view of one side of the house.
Garden shot-the housekeeper, Martin, created that stone path by collecting rocks found around town.
I llove my llama!
This is Pampa Tin Tin, the llama I bought in Tilcara. He likes the view too!
Abby and Edgar, two of Martin´s kids-adorable!
Me in Cachi.
The church of Cachi. If you look closely you can see a rainbow around the sun.

Our last night in Cachi. We played Scrabble by the fire and drank wine to keep warm. It was such a perfect trip, and to top it all off it was Nic's birthday! ¡Feliz cumple!
On the way back we splurged on a bus with seats that reclined all the way back. That helped us sleep, so did the wine with dinner and the champagne for dessert!
This trip was one of the best I have had. We got along well, there were no problems with buses of hotels or anything, the people were friendly, the food was great, and the wine kept coming! Can't wait to go back! Cheers!
