The Town of Jujuy
The fruit and vegetables here are gorgeous! I caused quite a stir walking through here, I think blond hair is reeeeally uncommon in these parts! The church in Jujuy.
This is the interior. They had the most fantastic chandelliers I have seen, so elegant and sparkly! After our city tour the three of us headed out to the thermal baths. They were more like teeny tiny little warm baths, but they are where the locals go. Also, at 2 pesos per person, we were eager to sit in them and soak our bus-weary bodies. Here we are after, looking very relaxed, no?
In town enjoying a fantastic, spicy tamale! It was 75 centavos. They had a line of people selling them at lunchtimeo nt he street. They were also selling 4 empanadas for a peso. Jujuy is the poorest province in Argentina, and it is obvious by the prices and look of the bulidings and people. We also noticed, when walking around, that we are the only tourists here at the moment, which is really cool, actually, and we are more of an attraction to them than they are to us!
