Weekend
This weekend was so fun, complete with barbecue, music, parties and ending with a killer meal in one of the trendiest spots in town.
Friday afternoon I went over to a co-worker's place for dinner, and there we had delish kabobs, guac and some great conversation. I am so lucky my co-workers are so much fun! After dinner Katie and I headed over to a concert that we have been looking forward to for ages. Willy Mason opened for Sondre Lerche (Oh my God I LOVE him!) and they were both so great in concert. We had an absolute blast and Katie even got to meet 3/4 of the band, so that was exciting. And of course I got to see Sondre, finally! It was awesome.
Saturday was the last day of teaching, which was good, we played Uno Attack which got the kids totally wound up and excited and made it that much easier to say buh-bye at noon! Haha. Then I hung with mom and dad for a minute and a tuna sandwich before heading back up to the city to get ready for the next partee. Matt moved into the Sunset so we went to his housewarming/birthday bash which was super fun, and I actually stayed up to just about midnight (a miracle on Saturdays when I've been working).
Sunday we got to sleep in for the first time in a long long time. We wandered to a new local breakfast nook, which Levi is totally excited to have found, and generally were bums til I had to go meet up with Ian and Brett for dinner and Levi had to take off to record their latest stuff. I have been dying to try Nopa, the new "it" place to try in the city, and I have to say I was not at all disappointed. They require a reservation a month in advance, but we walked in early at 6 and were seated in 15 minutes. The appetizers I have to say were a bit disappointing, but the wine was great (patting myself on the back as I chose it) and the main courses-steak, pork chop and vegetable tagine-were outstanding. Then thank God we left room for dessert, because the sticky toffee pudding cake was awesome. The best part was I got home at 9, which means we dined unhurried or inturrupted for almost 3 hours. It's practically unheard of these days, but there was absolutely no rush and we were able to catch up and chat. So that was great. Then I got home, went to bed and now today is back to the daily grind. March is almost over though, and the evening events are slowing down a bit, so I'm hoping to get back to normal and be able to see Levi during the week every now and then. Fingers crossed...
